The Nielsen
Kiosk and event pavilions on Shark Beach, Vaucluse
The Nielsen is on Shark Beach in Nielsen Park, Vaucluse, inside Sydney Harbour National Park. It is a kiosk and a café first, and one of the finer places in the eastern suburbs to sit with a coffee and watch the harbour.
Breakfast, casual lunch and grab-and-go run through the day. The kiosk opens at 7am and the kitchen at 8. Weekdays everything closes at 4, weekends at 5, though hours shift with the weather and how busy it is — worth checking before you make the trip.
Beyond the counter there are three event spaces on the same stretch of sand: the Pavilion, the Kiosk and the Beach Club.
Bring swimmers. The beach is the point.
