Café and lookout at the Australian National Maritime Museum

HarbourWatch is at the water's edge inside the Australian National Maritime Museum at Pyrmont — part café, part lookout. Darling Harbour is straight ahead and the museum's fleet is moored alongside.

The menu is short and led by produce: coffee, breakfast and lunch, coastal in flavour and built to sit beside the museum rather than compete with it.

It is open every day from 9.30am to 4pm, which makes it a stop before or after the galleries rather than a dinner room. The bi-fold glass walls open straight onto the boardwalk when the weather allows.

The same team runs events across the whole museum precinct.

Events at HarbourWatch

The museum precinct takes anything from 30 guests to more than 2,500, across indoor and outdoor spaces. HarbourWatch North seats 180 or holds 650 standing; HarbourWatch South seats 60 or holds 80, and the two can be joined for larger nights.

Getting here

Find HarbourWatch on the boardwalk of the Australian National Maritime Museum precinct, 2 Murray Street, Pyrmont. The Pyrmont Bay light rail stop is a short walk, ferries call at Pyrmont Bay Wharf, and Town Hall and Wynyard stations are both ten to fifteen minutes on foot.

Paid parking is at the Harbourside car park on Murray Street, at ICC Sydney and at Wilson Parking in Darling Quarter; metered street parking through Pyrmont and Darling Harbour is limited. Taxis and rideshares drop off at the museum entrance.
